MeteoGraphics at IBC 2011
MeteoGraphics introduced a number of exciting product developments at IBC 2011, in Amsterdam, 8th – 13th September 2011. A key new development on show was the integration of video into the company’s proprietary weather broadcast presentation systems WeatherPresenter and MeteoEarth.
This cutting-edge functionality enables user-generated content or footage produced by correspondents to be quickly and easily integrated into WeatherPresenter and MeteoEarth and then broadcast instantly by the presenter. Broadcasters can even stream live videos directly on air using WeatherPresenter and MeteoEarth. MeteoGraphics demonstrated this advanced function to IBC visitors by integrating live footage, shot during the event, with MeteoEarth, an interactive presentation system showing live weather around the globe.
Other new features presented at this year’s IBC included a Bing Maps plug-in that allows the generation of high-resolution maps and zooming down to street level, data-driven wave effects on seas and oceans and new interactive objects such as forest fire hazard symbols or graphics that contain multiple weather parameters. A favourite amongst the IBC audience was the option to apply a graphics effect to the whole screen as opposed to being limited to graphics within the weather map.
